In the study conducted by The University of Arts and Sciences (Saitama, Japan) researchers gave 71 obese male and female subjects 600 mg of apple polyphenols or a placebo per day for 12 weeks.
The subjects were analysed for cholesterol, total cholesterol, body weight and abdominal fat. By the end of the study the researchers had found that those supplementing with apple polyphenols had dropped significantly more overall bf% and body weight, and had lower total cholesterol and cholesterol levels.
